PRIZE POOL

All finishers are eligible for a prize pool totalling $30,000.

Major Spot Prizes include  a trip to the 2015 Virgin Money London Marathon. Entrants make themselves eligible by placing their race number tear-off strip in the bins provided at the entrance to the Prize Giving. Thanks for Travel Managers for this great prize. Check them out at www.marathons.co.nz.

Note that due to time constraints the veterans awards at the prize giving will only award to three vetran men & women overall (40yrs+). The Veteran age group awards for the Full Marathon and Half Marathon will not be presented on stage, but will be available from the Info Booth. See below.


OVERALL AWARDS

The feature Full Marathon and Half Marathon are open races. The first five men and women overall, regardless of age, will be awarded the following tax paid training grants:

Full Marathon Run:     1st - $3000; 2nd - $2000; 3rd - $1000; 4th - $500; 5th - $250

Awarded at Prize Giving

Half Marathon Run:    1st - $2000; 2nd - $1000; 3rd - $  750; 4th - $500; 5th - $250

RECORD BONUSES

If any of the overall male and female winners in the Full Marathon Run and Half Marathon Run break the following race records, they will be awarded a $1000 tax paid bonus grant:

Full Marathon

Men: 2:15:12 (Tom Birnie, ChCh, 1985)

 Women: 2:35:00 (Naenai Sasaki, Japan, 1982)

Half Marathon

Men: 1:02:37 (Jonathon Wyatt, Wgtn. 2002)

 Women: 1:10:49 (Nina Rillstone, Akld, 2005)

NB: The walk categories are not official race walks. They are timed social walks that will award first three men & women.
NB: Recreational entrants intending to run/walk must enter a Run section.
