General Category Info

  • Every finisher wins a medal

  • All participants are eligible for overall and age group awards within their race.

  • In all cases, age categories are decided by age on race day.

  • Categories, the placings awarded and how they are awarded, are listed below.

  • In the Marathon & Half Marathon, prize money & medals will be awarded for the first three men & women overall, regardless of age.  

  • On race day podium prize givings for overall placegetters will take place as listed below.

  • Age group and walk medals will be available for collection from the main marquee. Results will be posted there.

  • In 2024 the Half Marathon also doubles as the official New Zealand Half Marathon Championship.

  • Results:  All results on race day are provisional only. Results on race day will be posted outside the main marquee.

Record Bonuses

If the overall male and female winners in the Full Marathon Run and Half Marathon Run break the following race records they will be awarded a $1000 tax paid bonus grant:
