How much are the entry fees?

What are the refund policies?
50% of entry fee refund: Requests received by midnight NZT on Sunday, 10 January 2027.
25% of entry fee refund: Requests received between Monday, 11 January 2027, and Sunday, 28th February 2027.
No Refunds: After 28th February 2027. (Unless you have purchased Enhanced Refund Protection
Eligibility:
● Refund requests must be submitted by midnight NZT on Sunday, 28th February 2027
● No refunds will be provided for requests received after this date.
Refund Amounts:
● Requests received by midnight NZT on Sunday, 10 January 2027 (3 months before the event) will receive a 50% refund of the registration fee.
● Requests received between Monday, 11 January 2026, and Sunday, 28 February 2027, will receive a 25% refund of the registration fee.
● Refunds are not available for any registrations after Sunday, 28th March 2027.
Processing Time:
Refunds will be processed within 30 business days of receipt of the request.
Procedure:
To request a refund, participants must email info@christchurchmarathon.co.nz with their registration details.
Non-Refundable Items:
Processing fees and charitable donations made during registration are non-refundable.
All additional purchases are non-refundable.
Transaction fees are not refundable.
How do I get a refund?

Enhanced Refund Protection (RECOMMENDED)
We partner with to Race Rosters’ Refund Protection program. By purchasing the enhanced refund protection program, 100% of your entry fee, add-ons and entry bookings will be refunded if you are unable to attend do to the refundable reasons.

You can add this when you enter the Ascics Christchurch Marathon upon checkout. Please read the terms and conditions of this service. (This can not be added after your event entry has been purchased.)
Once you have purchased your Enhanced Refund Protection Program, Race Roster will send you a confirmation email containing links to both the Refund Protection Program PDF, and a link to request your refund.
To see if you are eligible for a refund through the Enhanced Refund Protection Program, please follow the instructions that were sent to you via email by Race Roster.
What should I do if I can't locate my protection Registration Refund Protection details?
If you are missing your Registration Refund Protection's details, you can reach out to us at support@raceroster.com with the name of the event you registered for, and the name of the individual(s) who are requesting information regarding their Registration Refund Protection purchases.
When requesting a refund, the system is telling me my details are invalid, how should I proceed?
Please first locate the following details related to your Refund Coverage:
Registration receipt or ID
Refund Protection Program ID, if found on Race Roster transaction
Email
First & Last Name
Then, submit your refund request related question by email at help@protecht.com
Can I purchase Registration Refund Protection after already completing my registration?
Unfortunately, the Registration Refund Coverage is only available for purchase during the registration process and is not eligible to be added after the registration has been completed.
Event Transfer - To A Different Distance
● Final Day for category changes is Sunday 28th February 2027 @ 11:59pm.
Participants can transfer their registration to another event category (e.g., from the marathon to the half marathon) within the Christchurch Marathon event.
● If transferring to a higher-priced event category, participants must pay the difference in registration fees based on the current pricing tier at the time of transfer.
● If transferring to a lower-priced event category, no refunds of the difference will be provided.
You are able to transfer your entry yourself! Simply login to your race roster portal, on the right hand side you will see a panel with a transfer button.
Click the button and follow the prompts.
Transfer to another person
● Participants can transfer their registration to another person.
● Transfers must be completed by midnight NZT on Sunday, 28th February 2027.
● A transfer fee of $20 will apply for each participant transfer.
● The new participant must register online using the unique transfer link provided after the original participant initiates the transfer process.
Difference in entry fees will need to be paid by the new participant
I need my confirmation email resent
No problem! One week prior to the event as well as 24 hours before registration you will be sent a copy of your registration email, with a QR code for check in. Otherwise send us an email info@christchurchmarathon.co.nz.
What are the age limits?
For the safety of our runners, we have some minimum ages in place. This is 12 years old for the 10km, 16 years old for the Half Marathon and 18 years old for the Marathon. This is the age you are on race day,
